Safeguarding at Newry City Runners
At Newry City Runners, we believe running should be a positive experience for everyone — a place where people feel respected, supported, and safe. Adult safeguarding is about protecting the wellbeing, rights, and dignity of all members, especially those who may be more vulnerable due to age, disability, health, or personal circumstances.
Our commitment is simple: every runner deserves to feel safe, included, and listened to, whether they’re joining us for training, events, or social activities. We follow Athletics NI and UK Athletics safeguarding guidance to ensure our club maintains the highest standards of care, confidentiality, and accountability.
Safeguarding isn’t just a policy — it’s part of our culture. Coaches, volunteers, and members all play a role in looking out for one another, speaking up when something doesn’t feel right, and helping create a club environment where everyone can thrive.
