Armagh Marathon, Half Marathon and Team Relay Team Event:
Outstanding performances by our relay teams this year in Armagh, taking 5 of the top 6 spots and on all 3 podium places. Excellent team work as well as classy individual performances, especially by Damian Mulholland and Micheal Dillon who ran two legs of the relay instead of one. The first leg was 7.3 miles, second and third 6.3 miles, and the final leg was 6.4 miles.
Relay winners were team “The Originals” Duddy Parr led the first leg, followed by Damian Mulholland who ran the next two legs and finishing with Paddy Havern.Â
2nd place went to team “Mr Dairylee and friends” lineup as follows: Damien Maguire, Gerald Mc Aleenan, Pat Rocks, Aidy Winters.
3rd place team “Models Inc” Gerard Boyle, Mark Clements, Cathal Morgan and Michael Englishby.

Killyleagh Half Marathon:
Another tough half marathon course and again two super runs from Pat Rocks 1:39, and Roisin Rocks 1:42.
Congrats to Jennifer Mc Ateer for completing her first 50km ultra marathon last week. 3×10.3 mile loops with 900ft elevation on each loop, time 8hr 22 mins well done Jen.
Well done to Patricia Brown who took part in Newry Triathlon and to Aaron Montgomery who took part in Dublin Marathon,
both on Sunday.Â
Tock Tock 2 mile run:
Held last Tuesday in fondest memory of Andy Califf, over 300 people came out to support this event. Bernard Hamill finished in 13.03 (13th male),Barbara Fleming Ovens 15.00 (12th lady)Â and Jennifer Mc Ateer 20.14. Well done to all.
Pace your own Race: no 5
The penultimate 4 mile race of the series takes place in Greenbank on 31st August, registration at 6.30pm for 7pm start.Cost Â£3. Don’t miss it!
Haldane Fisher Duathlon:
NCR and Newry Wheelers are joining forces and supporting our sponsors for the Haldane Fisher Duathlon in Newry on Sunday 24th September in aid of Autism Families Community Support Group.
The Duathlon will begin at Haldane Fishers Newry branch, in Carnbane Industrial Estate at 9.30am. It consists of a 2 mile run, 10 mile cycle, and another 2 mile run. Cost is Â£20 per entry with team entries £25. Find the link for registration on our Facebook page. Our Plumbmaster branch in Newry will also be sponsoring a family fun day from 9.30am to 3pm including bouncy castles, bungee runs, inflatable slides, arts & crafts, a disco dome and other exciting games.
