NCR competing well in both Armagh International road races & ‘Last one standing’ in Castleward

Armagh International Road Race:
Held on Thursday evening 16th Feb, this is one of the most competitive races in the running calendar in the country.
Chris Devine achieved a super PB time of 16.14 in the 5k race, Patricia Brown won her category in the ladies 3k in a fast 12.14. Another category prize went to Pat Rocks, 2nd prize in a time of 11.40 in the 3k.
Peter Linden also achieved a PB in the 3k race with a time of 10.39. Also two fast times to complete the NCR lineup came from Gerard Mc Aleenan – 11.24, and Sarah-Jane Beattie – 12.04. Well done to everyone.
Atlas Running: Last One Standing – castleward.
Don Travers won the 8.4 mile trail race (two loops) in a time of 51.52, over 40 seconds ahead of second place.
Well done also to Michelle Mowlds who ran the 4.2 loop in 46.46, and Stephen O’Neill who ran the 8.4 mile race, time 1.14.29.
Jennifer Mc Ateer did excellent finishing 4 laps (just under 17 miles), only missing out on starting the 5th lap by a few minutes.
2017 NCR Awards night & AGM:

Please make a note of the NCR Awards night on Saturday 25th Feb at 8pm in the Bank Bar. It all kicks off with a champagne reception, next the presentation of awards, and finally some food & dancing. Entrance fee is £10, don’t miss out on what promises to be a great night.

Another date for the diary is the 2017 AGM. This will be held on March 2nd at the Bank at 8pm. Please don’t forget to email your votes for club person of the year to events@newrycityrunners.com
