BORN2RUN 25/2/17 CASTLEWELLAN FOREST PARK
Don Travers stands on the podium again at this weekends final Born2Run 10k race of 2017, and it seems to be a regular occasion for him, showing to be in fine racing form he was placed 2nd today in a fantastic time of 35.31. Well done also to Patricia Brown running in 47.54 and being the overall age category winner for the series so a great start to the running season for you both.
Other NCR members who ran today were Mark Copeland 51.30, Tracey Ruane 58.46, Karen McElroy 1.05.39, Jennifer Mcateer 1.09.41.
Also another NCR member Robbie Marsh made it onto the podium with a 3rd place at the 5k race here running in a super time of 19.43 on a tough route and his wife and NCR member Evelyn Marsh completing the 5k in a brilliant time of 28.07. Congratulations to you all.
EAST ANTRIM MARATHON SERIES, 26/2/17
Congratulations to Karen McElroy on completing the marathon today in a fantastic time of 4.15, looking fresh after winning the NCR female outstanding achievement award on Saturday night for her successful year in running marathons and ultra marathons so a huge congratulations to you.
SPERRIN HARRIERS 10MILE PARKANEUR FOREST RACE, 25/2/17
Congratulations to Christopher Devine on running an exceptional time of 58.09 (Unofficial) in this forest race and on a very tough route. Well done here and also on winning NCRs Best newcomer award on Saturday night, well deserved.
TOKYO MARATHON 26/2/17
Club member Gerald Boyle decided to take on the marathon majors challenge with his first marathon in the beautiful city of Tokyo. Running a fantastic time of 4.28.00 he is doing a great job and raising a fantastic amount of money for Cancer Focus NI and all in memory of his son Harvey. Gerald also won most improved male at the NCRs awards night on Saturday night and received his award via a video call. Best of luck on the rest of your journey to complete the majors and congratulations on your well deserved award.
