Huge congratulations to Don Travers coming in to take 3rd place in todays tough half marathon , it started off on the Omeath road just down from the Quays centre in Newry and finished in the Square off Clanbrassil street in Dundalk. With an early 10:00am start and close to 800 runners in the event it all ran like clockwork.
First obstacle was the steep Dublin road climb out of Newry of just over a mile and on towards the Carrickdale hotel and turning right up towards Jonesboro and thats where the 2nd steep climb was but only a kilometre in distance so it was over quickly. After that it was mostly downhill to Dundalk on tired legs. Lucky for us we had the wind on our backs all the way to Dundalk. Lots of personal bests earned today namely Duddy Parr and Patricia McMullen knocking minutes off their previous times so well done to you.
25 NCRs turned out today to run so a big well done to you all.
